Mantra

This work presents four Buddhas „as“ votiv candles. A strange twist, as usually one brings candle to the Buddha. The sculptures are positione on top of a German WWII-ammunition box that orignally contained BLC50 photoflash reconnaissance bombs, lighting up the night skies. Enlightenment indeed, but gone terribly wrong. The box was additionally fitted with a red grid structure that is taken from compositional rules in Buddhist painting and inscribed „Om Mani Padme Hum“ in old Mongolian scripture from top to bottom.
